The range of emotions that we continue to experience are eye-opening. We are diligently writing words and editing photos, with lots of breaks in-between. This process is slower than we anticipated and we are learning to be gentle and patient with ourselves. Now that we've walked down this road of building a house in another country, we can say that we were naive and a bit crazy. We hope that our journey can shed some light and humorous stories for those interested in travel, construction, and ultimately following a dream.

Five years ago, in 2007, we went on a vacation to Peru and fell in love. While there, we were introduced to a new community building project. Previous to this vacation, we had a vision to live in a conscious community, grow our own food, and help create a sustainable lifestyle. We thought that this would be a great fit for our ideas and lifestyle. Well, our vision turned out to be none of the above. This Adobe House blog postings are a collection of our written words, photographs, and videos of our house construction in Peru and the invaluable life lessons that we learned along the way. The book This Adobe House will be published in conjunction with these writing, photos, and videos. |
